Culturally Safe Care: How we can all be part of the change

Dr Gari Watson, Dr Jodi Hart, Dr Jess Manuela Season 7 Episode 64

Being an Indigenous dental practitioner in Australia comes with a whole host of challenges. Join ADA NSW’s Cathryn Forsyth as she sits down with the directors of the Indigenous Dental Association Australia, Drs Gari Watson, Jess Manuela, and Jodi Hart, as they talk about their personal and professional journeys and the many underlying factors that impact the health disparities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and the rest of mainstream Australia.
The aims of the Indigenous Dental Association Australia are to improve indigenous oral health, highlight the importance of early intervention in disadvantaged patients, and in collaboration with ADA NSW, educate dental practitioners on the significance of creating a culturally safe service for Indigenous patients.
